Syd McKenna

Syd McKenna focuses her practice on workers’ compensation and personal injury law, representing plaintiffs throughout Montana who have been injured at work or by wrongdoers.

​

Syd has more than 30 years of legal experience. She handles workers’ compensation cases on behalf of workers, personal injury cases and wrongful deaths. Dedicating her practice to these areas of law allows her to provide knowledgeable and thorough representation. Syd is committed to fighting for justice for injured workers and victims of wrongdoers including those who have lost a family member due to negligence.

Over her time in practice, Syd has recovered considerable sums in settlements and verdicts for her clients. Recognizing her success in 2012, the Montana Trial Lawyers Association named her, “Trial Lawyer of the Year.” For the last several years she has been nominated and rated as a Super Lawyer including one of the top 50 women lawyers in the Mountain States, a considerable recognition.

Active in the legal community, Syd has held leadership roles such as President and Board of Directors for the Montana Trial Lawyers Association. She has also served as a former judge and instructor for the MTLA Trial Academy. She also has contributed to the law school by appearing as an occasional guest speaker or panelist.

 

Born and raised in Lewistown, Syd earned a bachelor’s degree and her law degree from the University of Montana.

Justin Starin

In the landmark automobile insurance case Riordan v. State Farm Mut. Auto. Ins. Co. before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, Justin successfully argued that his client could collect attorney fees from the insurance company because the insurance company forced the client to go to court to get the full benefit of the insurance policy.

Justin has more than twenty years of representing individuals and small businesses.  He is active in the legal community.  Justin is currently the Secretary/Treasurer and a Board Member of the Montana Trial Lawyers Association. 

​

Justin was born in Kalispell and raised in Butte and Augusta, Montana. He graduated from college and law school at the University of Montana. Justin was admitted to the State Bar of Montana in 1999.

​

After working in Helena at the Montana Supreme Court, the District Court, and the Montana School Boards Association, Justin moved to Missoula and began private practice.
